Based on Quaker principles and the core values of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality and Stewardship, the residents and staff work together to honor these values. By working with like-minded organizations in the community, Friends Homes can adapt and provide a cost-efficient strategic plan that enhances the way residents experience aging. Working with colleges and universities for life-long-learning, and the partnership with Piedmont Senior Care for resident health, are examples of successful relationships in our local community. The management services provided by Brightspire are integral in our operation methods and continues to be a fruitful relationship.
In our 65th year, the campus is experiencing the benefits of focused planning efforts to accommodate a growing community. With an expanded Wellness Center and Dining Program, our 700+ residents at West and Guilford can find activities for physical and intellectual health with our Encompass Program. A bridge between the two campuses opened in September 2022, providing a safe and convenient way for the community to enjoy the full dining and enrichment experiences at both locations. In April 2023, the final phase of our recent expansion will welcome new residents into 58 apartments with modern floor plans and individual balconies.
With continued opportunities on the horizon, Executive Director, Arnie Thompson, says “As you have been hearing, our strategic path has been laid out for Friends Homes for the next 10, 20 and 25 years. That path is full of opportunities to ensure Friends Homes is successful and sustainable for future residents to happily call our community their Home.”
