Skilled nursing at Friends Homes offers compassionate, highly trained medical care for a variety of circumstances. Whether it is for a respite stay while a caregiver takes a break, rehabilitative care to get you back on your feet after an illness or injury, or long-term care, we are here for you.

Skilled nursing at Friends Homes is staffed 24 hours a day by registered nurses, LPNs, and Certified Nursing Aides. Medical services are coordinated by a nurse practitioner and our medical director is involved in planning and evaluating all of our health care services.

Whittier Nursing Center is arranged into neighborhoods, each with a focus on person-centered care. A central dining room and activity room create a warm, home-like atmosphere within the neighborhood.

The Birches neighborhood in Whittier Nursing Center is specifically designed to meet the needs of residents with memory loss. The Birches features twelve private rooms arranged around a living room, dining room, and kitchen. In addition, this neighborhood includes a craft room, music room, solarium and a secure outdoor garden. Residents move freely within the Birches neighborhood and enjoy a variety of planned activities. Staff at The Birches are specially trained in dementia care.
